YFU Camp

This year's student camp was held at a golf resort in Chonburi. I was assigned to five sessions.

It is one of Thailand's largest golf resorts. I enjoyed the sound of the overnight rain and thunder.

About 220 Thai students were preparing to spend the school year abroad. Over half go to the USA.

I got to meet Dream and her parents!

Each time I saw Dream she would smile, wave and say hi. She hung out with the other students from her province.

My first 2 sessions were with the USA students. I had them write their name on my map. Afterwards they checked to see who would be living near them.

They broke off into groups to work on listing their concerns. Then I read them and we discussed them.

Me walking around helping the students.

Dalad, Charles (USA), Sonya, Lina (Germany), Me and Fai.

Ting, the leader of YFU Thailand.

Swiss volunteers asked where I wanted to stand for the photo. In the middle of course!

Meow handled a lot of the coordination and language testing for the students.

We were the judges for the talent show.

They had a rock-paper-scissors contest with the losers joining the train of the winner.

The staff and students were such fun.

Finally got to see Neo at the YFU office. He bought his first car 2 weeks ago.
