Kaley

Last weekend we went to the Thai temple in Fremont. There was a visiting monk who gave Kit a bracelet.

While at the temple Kit made a new friend, Kaley. Yesterday Tuk and Kit went to visit Kaley's home. They had a great time playing together.

Kit misses her Grandma

Kit had such a fun week with her Grandma.

Grandma's flight to San Diego:

Last night Kit played with the neighbor kids until 8:30. She's going to miss them while they're at camp next week.

Tuk is learning how to build beautiful towers for Kit to knock down.

Movement Class

Kit enjoyed her movement class today. She started out on the stair steps.

Then tried fishing for some plastic balls in the pool.

She took a break to experiment with magnets.

Then it was back to serious play on the slide.

U.S. Citizen

Today Tuk became a U.S. citizen! Grandma, Kit and I enjoyed witnessing the ceremony.

The priveledge and responsibility of voting dominated much of the ceremony. Afterwards, booths from both major political parties were out front seeking new members.

Tuk considered the Democratic party...

and the Republican party...

But she said it is too soon for her to pick.

Ocean

Today we went up to the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco to see the exhibit on art from the Ming Dynasty. They had a kid's play area when Kit enjoyed sitting on this chair. She also enjoyed puppets of a lion and a dragon.

We had lunch at the Ferry Building. Kit enjoyed running around outside in the sun. It was a lovely day.

Per family tradition, Grandma dipped Kit's feet into the icy waters of the Pacific to introduce her to the ocean.

Matt, Chrysta, Stephanie and Dhana joined us for dinner at Saint John's.

Grandma

Kit was excited about picking up Grandma at the airport. We went to Athena Grill for a Greek dinner. Kit liked the sour lemon.

After dinner we went on a walk.

Christa joined us too.

Kit still likes to stop and smell the flowers.

Santa Cruz

Today is mom's day off so Kit and I headed to Santa Cruz.

First, we stopped at Emily's Bakery to pick up breakfast. I intended to go to Kelly's French Bakery but somehow I ended up at Emily's instead. The Santa Cruz liberalism at Emily's was annoying, such as the "Obama-berry pie" slices. Kit loved the pumpkin muffin I picked for her.

We drove along the coast then headed up to UCSC. She enjoyed the tranquil Koi pond at Porter College, aka College V.

We walked across the campus and back, through the forest and over bridges.

Kit saw her first deer. She also watched the squirrels play.

I used to fly my kites here.

After visiting UCSC went downtown for several hours before returning home.

In the evening, we went on a nice long walk with Matt, Joanie and the gang around the Sun campus. Kit loved it, even though she was a little cold and very tired afterwards.

Farmers Market

This morning we went to the Farmers Market in Santa Clara. Kit enjoyed walking around the fountain.

Kit enjoys the bear Wonsik gave her.

Later, we went to Costco.

In the late afternoon we went for a walk with Matt, Christa, Stephanie and Daina to the park.

Kit is a good walker. Still, suddenly, we saw that the big kids were a block ahead of us.

We caught up with them and had a nice time at the park. She enjoyed going down the slide with Stephanie.

Daina shared some snacks with Kit.

We moved from playground to playground with Kit following after the bigger kids.

Kit with Christa (her future baby-sitter) and BJ.

Daina was so sweet to move the plants aside for Kit to walk through.

Stephanie and Daina stayed with us for dinner.

Athena Grill

Kit enjoyed her music class with Tuk today. Afterwards, she went to Foothill College to visit some friends at the ceramic studio. For dinner, we went to a Greek restaurant called Athena Grill. Kit enjoyed the salad with feta cheese very much.

Kit says Athena Grill is her #1 favorite Greek restaurant. She wants to take her Grandma and Auntie Misun there next week.

Stephanie

Stephanie joined us tonight for a walk and dinner while Tuk was in class. She showed Kit how to make a funny face by sticking her two fingers into her mouth, sticking her tongue out and making a silly sound.

We shared a pizza at Premier Pizza.

Back at home, Kit would only allow Stephanie to feed her.
