Lasagna and Park

Dream has been wanting to try lasagna, so she made one.

Sausage, ground pork, onion, carrot, celery, garlic, tomatoes and two cheeses.

Delicious!

Princess Kit.

Silly Kit.

Kit and I spent the day together. We started at Mtn. View hospital, where she was born. She liked seeing the new babies.

We also explored two new parks.

Dance

After Thanksgiving dinner, Kit invited everyone to a dance.

Dream is going to go to the Winter Ball at school... Kit is jealous.

So Kit prepared a wonderful dance for us. She sent out invitations and prepared a bag. Each bag had an instrument.

We played our instruments while dancing around the ball room she prepared.

She was quite pleased.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was an opportunity for everyone to try new foods. Dream and I went shopping for ingredients.

We spent Thursday cooking:
A petite turkey (9.6 pounds)
Cornbread stuffing with Italian sausage
Scalloped potatoes
Candied yams
A mushroom sauce
Biscuits
Grilled fennel
Grilled Johnsonville brats (Kit requested them)
Apple and pumpkin pies
Stuffed pumpkin (brown rice, onion, celery, carrots, cashews, cheese, thyme)

That night, Tuk and Dream ventured out to the mall at midnight. They were amazed by it all. The traffic to get to the mall was extremely heavy. Then the shops were absolutely packed. They could barely walk among the masses of people. Crazy!

Earlier in the week we went to see the play Jack and the Bean Stalk with Sophia and Bryan. Kit loved it!

We also baked a pineapple upside down cake, which amused Kit and Dream.

Song

As soon as I arrived home, Kit sang this new song she learned at school:

I'm a little piggy short and stout
Here are my ears, here is my snout
When I see the farmer in the dell
I oink, oink, oink and wiggle my tail

Swimming and Ice Skating

Kit moved up a level at swim school. Yesterday, she dove to the bottom of the pool and retrieved a pink ring! She was very proud of herself.

Kit enjoys watching Kim Yu-Na (2010 Olympic champion in ladies singles) skate. Kit imitates her by skating across our floor at home. (She also likes Megan Sweeney on the USA luge team... I wish we had a luge course for Kit!)

Kit had her first ice skating lesson yesterday as well. It wasn't what she expected. It turns out that learning to skate is hard.

When she fell down she didn't cry but she suddenly realized that this isn't going to be easy. She sat on the ice watching other kids and adults falling too.

Afterwards Kit exclaimed, "My teacher didn't show me how to skate!" What she meant was, "I can't jump and spin like Kim Yu-Na."

We discussed how it is going to take a while to learn to skate, just like it took a while to learn the ABCs and how to count to 20. She must start at the beginning and practice every week.

Kit's new schedule:
Mon: Fun with Mom
Tue: Full-day school
Wed: Swimming and ice skating
Thu: Full-day school
Fri: Fun with Mom

School - Full Day!

Today Kit changed classes and programs. She is back with Ms. Nelga, her teacher from last year. She is so happy!

Also, she is now in the full-day program. She is excited to have lunch with her classmates and, possibly, take a nap at school.

She has a Hello Kitty lunchbox and blanket.

This evening she said her class was, "Much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much too long."

She did well. She must learn to eat lunch quicker on her own so she can finish in the available time. At nap time she rested quietly on her mat. As she gets more comfortable she will likely fall asleep.

Doll House & CDM

Tuk found a nice doll house for Kit on Craig's list.

Kit gets to be the boss of her house.

Sunday, Kit and I went to the Children's Discovery Museum. Kit has not wanted to paint there in quite some time.

She always enjoys this room.

Kit tried fish sticks because Aunt Debbie likes them. Like her aunt, Kit doesn't want a dipping sauce either.

Ice Skating

Tuk and Dream started taking ice skating lessons together.

Kat had her first chocolate wafer cookie, which she loved.

Next week Kit starts ice skating.
