US Figure Skating Championships in San Jose

Kit getting ready to go out with Brian, Maria and Megan.

We went to the ice dance portion of the US figure skating competition in San Jose.

Many references to the 1996 finals which were held here. Tuk and I saw Michelle Kwan win her first championship. Rudy Galindo won for the mens. Both were in attendance this weekend.

Today's dance winners.

Megan and Kit were on the big screen! Then they zoomed out to show us too.

At home I noticed we were also on national TV. They showed us entering the HP Pavilion. Fun!

Home School

Kit calls this Snuggle School.

We're growing a variety of beans.

And started a crystal growing tank for fun.

Kit and I went to Safeway. The cashier said, "There is a princess in my aisle."

Kit eating kale chips.

Cooking

Kit creating baked-potato-mice.

So cute!

Kit made her own shrimp dumplings.

And we made cherry-raspberry jigglers.

Kit's Birthday

Kit had her birthday party at miniature golf.

Kit asked for bacon-wrapped-ham for her birthday breakfast, a fried egg and a waffle.

Kindergarten registration line

Kindergarten registration is first-come first-served so parents were camping in line. I arrived at 4:00 AM and was #43 in line for one of the roughly 120 spaces available. DCS is one of three kindergarten options we are considering for Kit next year.

Happy Birthday Kit

This year Kit is old enough to help participate in preparing her own birthday party. She has been excited about every detail.

On Saturday she enjoyed miniature golf with some close friends.

For breakfast today she requested bacon wrapped ham, a fried egg and a waffle served in her bed(room).

Silly Quotes

Kit had many silly quotes in the past month, including:

"I'd like a ham sandwich without the sandwich and a bacon sandwich without the sandwich too."

"If Mommy has one more thing in her purse she will need an RV."
[Tuk's purse has a name now: RV]

"I'd like a pepperoni pizza without bread, cheese and sauce."
