Chemistry Homework

Dream had the best homework assignment ever: Bake chocolate chip cookies.

It is the first time she has ever baked cookies.

She had to follow the teacher's recipe measuring and mixing each ingredient.

The assignment allowed for any type of tree nut/fruit so she selected coconut, giving them a Thai influence.

The cookies are delicious!!!

For the last cookie, Dream made a huge heart shaped one.

She shared it with her lunch pals.

Meanwhile, Kit read a book to Hana.

Tuk's Birthday

Happy Birthday Tuk!

Kit and Dream made wonderful cards for Tuk's birthday. I need to post photos of them.

Tuk wanted grilled scallops for dinner.

Kit helped make a special dessert.

We baked ladyfingers for a tiramisu.

Then we assembled the tiramisu and let it chill for dessert.

Hiking at Pinnacles with Sophia

Saturday morning we went hiking at Pinnacles. It was a lovely, chilly morning. Kit and Sophia are always happy to go hiking together. The laugh so much! They like to trace the numbers they find along the trail. Climbed up a rock for a nice photo opportunity. Up on a rock with Sophia and Kit. Dream heads into the cave. Kit learned useful skills like sliding down off a ledge. And stooping down to go under a rock. Exiting the cave. The upper section was closed for baby bats. Will re-open in November. Tuk and Kit climb up out of the cave area. A little rest. Dream by the reservoir where we lad a nice lunch. Sophia and Kit hiking. Dream out on a rock. Dream and the lovely view. Next time let's climb to the summit! Sophia and Kit hanging out on a rock. They tell each other silly jokes. Sophia, Pora, Kit and Tuk hiking down the trail. Dream hiking. Kit holding up a tree. I get a kiss! Kit likes taking pictures too. Sophia's aunt Sophia was visiting from San Diego. Breno, Kit, Pora and Sophia hiking back to the car. Took a quick look at our old house in Gilroy.

Playing with Arryan

Kit and Arryan went to the mall. A vendor was selling play houses that they enjoyed.
Of course the Lego store is always fun.

Kit wearing her new banana slug shirt and playing Legos at the CDM's Bob the Builder exhibit.

I painted two butterflies on her cheeks.

Hiking at UCSC

We hiked across the UC Santa Cruz campus on Saturday, starting in the moat at Merrill College.
"My skin is kind of sort of brownish pinkish yellowish white. My eyes are greyist blueish green. My hair is reddish blondish brown. And all the colors I am inside have not been invented yet."
Kit enjoys taking photos of us too.
Everyone enjoyed viewing the student paintings along the moat wall.

Koi fish at Porter College.

Kit picked the flowers and Tuk made the rings for Dream and Kit.

On the wave outside Porter College.
Had lunch at Oakes college. We had the entire college to ourselves.

Nice day for hiking. Dream isn't used to hiking but she did very well.

Dream thought the campus was lovely yet didn't like the classrooms being so far apart.

Kit enjoyed the tall redwood trees.
Hiking by the library.
And into the quarry.

Kit needed some help on the way back.
We saw lots of deer enjoying the last of the quiet summer before the students return.
Downtown Santa Cruz.
Next time we hope to ride the Giant Dipper!
