Happy Birthday Tuk

Tuk and Kit are wrapping up their visit. I think they're going to travel a bit this weekend then head to Bangkok for their flight back.

Sukhothai

Tuk and Kit went to historic Sukhothai this weekend.

Kit's Thai sounds beautiful. She correctly phrases her questions now instead of using tone alone to suggest a question. She no longer drops minor words from her sentences. She also knows many new phrases and when to use them.

Children often answer the phone in Thailand. Kit likes to race to the phone and answer it. She says, in Thai, "Baitong speaking." So cute.

Eating

Kit is having a great time playing with her cousins in Thailand. She is learning Thai at a rapid pace, surprising everyone.

She had several adjustments to make (people, language, food, weather, her dad isn't there, etc.) so she has not been eating even a bite of something, just milk, for several days. She's like a wild thing. But as long as she gets plenty of milk she'll be fine.

Yesterday while I was on the phone with Tuk I heard Kit ask for a chocolate Pocky. It was the first thing she ate in days. Now she is starting to eat other things too.

Our phone conversations are short as she is so busy:

Hi Dad,
I miss you.
I am playing with P'Fai.
I love you.
Bye!

Kit in Thailand

Kit is an excellent traveller. She slept for two hours on the way to Japan. She played with all of the things Tuk packed for her. Then she slept for the entire flight from Japan to Thailand. Perfect!

P'Tak and Chon met them at the airport. They drove directly to Phichit, about 4 hours from Bangkok. They are having a very nice time.

Thailand Flight

Tuk and Kit are over the Pacific Ocean now. They will change planes in Japan then continue on to Thailand.

Kit took "Nam Tan", the doll grandma gave her, with her.

She was very cute and helpful. We attached wheels to her carseat. Kit helped push her doll around when she wasn't riding in it herself. Tuk and Kit look very hip travelling together.

Update: They arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule in Bangkok, Thailand.

Doctor Visit

Kit likes going to see the doctor. The fish in the lobby are nice. The staff is fantastic. They welcome her back and tell her how much she has grown.

She likes the "tide pool" room.

Sometimes Kit's doctor is out, like today's visit, but Kit doesn't mind seeing any of the other doctors. She likes it.

SF Zoo

Saturday we went to the SF zoo. We started the day by having Dim Sum with Michelle.
There is a young giraffe.
Kit has always been fond of the zebra.
It was nice to see mommy carrying the baby on her back.
Then they sat down together.
There was a lot of chest beating and yelling as the silverback charged over and claimed the rock in front of us. Kit liked the drama.

Kit loves grizzly bears. We got to watch them swimming too.
The prairie dogs are fun.
Today Kit really wanted to see a peacock. First we found this spot where Kit could be a peacock.

Later we found one resting in the plants.

Kit climbed all over the tortoise statue.

Kit enjoyed these cut outs where she could pretend to be holding a snake.

Kit pet a goat! But feeding the ducks was more fun.

Playing with words

Kit has fun making up new words, new neologisms:

Ginormous
Gigantus
