Wonsik returns home

Kit cried after she realized we were leaving Wonsik at the airport. She had a great time with him.

Swim Party

Today we went to a friend's house warming party in Morgan Hill. His "Hiking and Fishing in Paradise" class is how I was introduced to Henry Coe State Park.

Kit enjoyed playing with Wonsik.

Then she discovered the swings overlooking the pool.

Kit made this patriotic windsock at her "Movement" class last week.

Wonsik visits

Today Wonsik came to visit. Usually Kit is very shy of guys but she took to Wonsik right away. We had lunch at the SF Ferry Building then returned to San Jose's Japan town for dinner.

OysterFest 2008

Today we went to a party hosted by two of my Coe Park friends at their home in Woodside. For the past 20 years they have been hosting an OysterFest where they invite their employees, their vet, some friends from Coe Park and from other circles to get together. At the heart is an oyster bar with some 1500 to 2000 oysters of various varieties, plus clams, mussels and a huge buffet. Everyone brought a drink to share so there were many varieties of sodas, beers and wines to try as well.

Kit loved all of the attention she received. She tried many things but her favorites were a strawberry salad, a shrimp cocktail with chips, and some noodles.

I've never eaten a raw oyster before. I started by tasting some of the ones coming off the grill with cheese, bacon, ginger and such. They were fantastic. So I tried a raw one with horshradish, lemon and tabasco. DELICIOUS!

Broken Camera

Our portable little Canon camera broke the 91st day after purchase. Costco's return policy is for only 90 days... yet they let it slide this time. I miss that little camera. It was perfect up until it died.

Sorry, no photos of Kit this week. She has been busy with swimming class, going to my company's annual picnic and playing in the park. Kit really loves her swim class and her instructor, Oliver. Next week he is competing to get a spot on the US Olympic swim team. Kit is cheering him on!

This picture is from a week ago. Kit was very proud of herself for being able to reach up to this bar above the slide. It's what all the big kids do.

Rose Garden

We started out at the farmer's market in San Jose's Japan town. A flower vendor gave Kit this little flower, which she enjoyed carrying and smelling.

We had a nice picnic at the Rose Garden.

Kit enjoyed smelling the roses.

It must have been great fun running away from her dad!

While Kit was taking a nap, I stopped by the Falafel Drive-In for a banana shake. When Kit awake, the two of us walked to Peet's for a snack.

Then to the park to play.

Finally, we enjoyed a nice time kicking a ball around on the grass.

The Mall

On Saturday we went to Valley Fair Mall where Kit enjoyed playing in the kid's area. She was very proud of herself for climbing up to the top of this slide.

She became moody after a big, careless (and apparently parent-less) kid pushed her. Even her new friend couldn't cheer her up. :(

Yum, Yum

Kit has been a very good eater lately.

She is one silly kid. Only a little bit silly?

Containers

Kit's favorite cabinet to play in is the one with all of the plastic containers.

Park and Popsicle

Kit went to the park twice today. First, Kit and I walked to the little park while Tuk relaxed and got ready for the day. Then we all walked to Prolific Oven for lunch. Kit enjoyed sitting outside and waving to the other kids. On the way home we stopped at the big park for Kit to play. Afterwards, she ran across the big field to get back home.

After her nap I took her over to Matt and Joanie's house, where Kit enjoyed a popsicle. Do you think Tuk will notice?

Dim Sum

We go to dim sum nearly every week. Kit is a regular. All of the staff know her. Today Kit asked Li, our regular waitress, to pick her up and carry her around the restaurant. Here she is flirting with Li trying to get her attention.

Playing Ball

Kit had a great time playing this game with Crysta, who she calls "Yee-ta." The other day she called Stephane "Ef-a-nee." Very cute.

Now Kit has swimming class twice a week. She loves it. As soon as Tuk pulls into their parking lot Kit gets really excited.

Fun with Megan

Today Kit went to her second swimming class. She absolutely loves swimming.

This evening Tuk had a knitting club mieeting so Kit and I set off on our own for dinner. Fortunately, we ran into Brian, Maria and Megan. We had dinner together at Piatti.

Megan drew some lovely pictures during dinner.

Kit had fun too.

Kit even tried the pizza.

Megan is a good role model for Kit.

Megan did a good job helping to take care of Kit too.

When we got home it was bath time.

Then duck suit...

And off to bed. Kit slept very well after her busy day.
