Pasta Girl

I have been trying for a year to get Kit interested in eating spaghetti. By spaghetti I mean any pasta with tomato sauce, particularly penne with bolognese sauce.

Singing the "On top of Spaghetti" song helped build some interest, yet no success.

Leaving cooked penne out as a snack eventually sparked some interest, yet she still refused to try it with the sauce.

Lately we have been looking at photo albums at bedtime. Kit enjoys seeing everyone and learning about different places. Initially she kept asking why she wasn't in the photos until she finally accepted that she wasn't born yet.

She often asks to see the album with photos of castles in Germany then asks when she can go there again. Perhaps she hasn't fully accepted that she wasn't born yet after all. Anyway, I told her she can't go to Europe until she learns to eat spaghetti.

The next day Kit tried pasta with sauce and loved it. In fact she now asks, "Where is the sauce?" when given just penne noodles.

Kit usually asks me to mix three different noodles together for added variety: Penne, Mezze Penne and Campanelle.

The new problem, as you may have guessed, is Kit is now asking when we can go to Europe.
