Low Tide

We got up at 4AM and headed to the tide pools for a really low tide today. We arrived at 5:45 to see an incredibly low (-1.9) tide.

For this area, the next low tide of this magnitude (-1.89) isn't for another 12 years and it will be 13 years before there is one lower than today's (-1.96).

Kit loves to eat seaweed at home. Here, she likes to look at the different varieties and feel their different textures.
Grandma found a large starfish for Kit.

A special kiss for Grandma.

Terry was texting his mom at 6AM. He wanted to text Amanda but thought it would be better if he didn't.

The morning sun is just starting to shine on the distant waves.

There were crabs and hermit crabs wandering around the tide pools.

Kit enjoys tickling the sea anenome.

As the tide started to come in we were finished exploring and started walking back to the car.

Swinging over the raging river, a feat that was repeated several times since it was so much fun.

After a quick trip to Pacifica we turned around and drove down the coast to Pescadero to visit the goat farm.

Cute goats.

We waited outside the garden until the cheese shop opened at 11:00. Afterwards we had lunch at Duarte's.

Grandma gave her a doll which she named Nam Tan, meaning sugar in Thai.

Kit stayed up late playing. Terry read her two bedtime stories, including Miss Suzy. She went off to bed and fell asleep right away. It was a long day for her but she will have happy dreams.
