Great Granddad

This weekend we went down to Pasadena to visit great granddad Lewis. It was a long drive but Kit did very well.

She took to great granddad right away. We went to El Cholo cafe for dinner on my birthday.

Kit enjoyed the mariachi band. They played Guantanamera (famous Cuban song), Cielito Lindo and La Bamba for her. She loved it!

The next morning we went to the park.

High five!

Greg, Diana, Aleya and Milana came up to visit! Great Aunt Denise also flew in from Portland!

Milana played the piano so nicely for us.

With 3 girls, the day was filled with hugs and kisses. Aleya performed many wonderful songs and stories for everyone.

We met up with Tim and Nao in Thai Town. Kit was so excited to see them.
The carpet of goldfields were lovely over the grapevine.
We stopped at Casa de Fruita just in time to catch the last train ride.

Play Group

Today the group met at Sophia's house.
They are learning the alphabet. Today Kit was talking about the letter Q. She said, "Q. Quail." She has a great Leap Frog phonics game. "Q says Qua."
They make art.
Kit enjoyed lounging on Sophia's chair.

Today Kit hosted the play group at our house.
Enjoying snack time. They also played outside with bubbles and enjoyed an art project.

Golden Gate Park

Michelle brought toothpicks so Kit could eat hors d'oeuvre style.

Kit was proud to carry the huge bag of raw peanuts for the squirrels.
Seeking out the best places for squirrels is hard work.

At one point we were surrounded by squirrels and running low on peanuts. I was starting to get worried we might have to run for the exit.
Does this mean no feeding the squirrels or no feeding them out of your hand?

Magic Show

It was a long wait but she enjoyed being with all of the other kids.
She clapped and really got into the show too.
Of course she knows Brian too.
We went home to enjoy the onion soup I made the night before.

Group Field Trip

Today Kit's play group went to see the new California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. They liked the four-story rain forest, aquarium and butterfly exhibits. They also watched a 3D movie about caterpillars!

Tim and Nao

Tim and Nao are visiting for the long weekend.
Kit had so much fun with them.
We went for Dim Dum at Kit's favorite place.
Kit didn't mind waiting outside Gombei for a seat.
Tim read her one of her favorite stories: Ten in the Bed
Nao joined in on the story too.
