Cherry Picking with Friends

We went to Brentwood to pick cherries and other fruits. We took Stephanie with us and met Sophia, Diane and Bryan there. We had lunch at a local park. The kids had a great time playing on the slides and running around. Kit and Stephanie enjoyed Jamba Juice on the way home.

Spelling

Kit loves to spell words. Sometimes she gets it right, like PINK. Other times, well, you can see:

Table: "T U V W X Y Z. Table."

And some times she gets silly:

Room: "R S T U V W X Y Z. Hong"
(Hong is the Thai word for room)

Busy Little Kit

Kit says goodbye to Pop. She enjoyed his visit and misses him very much. She is looking forward to Grandma and Terry visiting soon.
The free music class at the Mountain View library is very popular.
Kit is very good at following along with the movements of the songs and stories during her play group session.
The group enjoyed a nice picnic lunch.
Kit tickled Sophia.
Crysta is on summer vacation and has been spending a couple days with Kit.

Kit starts to play peek-a-boo with the camera.

Day with Pop

Kit and Pop walking through Japan Town after dinner.
Kit shows Pop how to use the drawing pad then they took turns drawing.
Enjoying a St. John's blue bacon burger, fries and a Fat Tire.
Stopped at Mitchell Park for Kit to play on the old bears.
Kit climbed up the play structure then said, "I forgot my cell phone." She repeated this game forgetting various things.
She loved getting into the driver's seat on the play car.
We picked up some sausages for dinner from Dittmer's. Then we sat at Kit's table and had PINK (cherry) gelato for dessert.

Play Group - Painting

The play group had fun painting today. Kit dripped the paint to see it splatter.

Bryan liked having a little more control.

Sophia decided that she was the canvas.

Sophia and Kit wrestling. They have so much fun together.

Kit wore her seat cover as a hat and declared herself the Potty Princess.

Big Kid Bed

We were at Ikea yesterday buying bookshelves when Kit noticed a kid's bed. She liked the idea of having her own bed very much. Before making a decision we went to have lunch to talk it over. Kit talked a lot about how she would love to have her own bed. She knows Bryan and Sophia just started sleeping in their own beds. So, we decided to buy it but the idea was totally Kit's.

Kit really did help assemble the bed. She is a great helper.

We didn't let her sleep in it that night so she could have one more night with Mommy. It also boosted her desire to want to sleep there the following night. It has been pretty much a part of every conversation with her.

Kit can dual-wield screwdrivers, pretty cool.

She is very proud of her bed.

It was her idea.
She picked everything out.
She helped build it.

Today she introduced her dolls to her new bed. She tells them how she will sleep there tonight. Here she is pretending to be asleep.

Every night she picks two books for me to read to her. She climbed into her bed and I sat next to her on the floor. We read her two book requests: Miss Suzy and Gossie & Gertie.

Afterwards, Tuk read her a Thai story book. Then Kit fell asleep happily in her new bed and stayed there for much of the night.

Baby Hannah, Water & Technology

Kit enjoys spraying the plants with her spray bottle.
And sometimes she sprays herself.

When she is really brave she tries spraying her mom.
Sitting with baby Hannah (Bryan's sister) who is a week old today.
Kit is testing out the Nintendo Gameboy we're sending Fai. She picked up the basic concept right away. Kids are amazing with technology.
It felt like she instantly became a teenager.

Dad: "Kit, please give it back."

Kit: "Talk to the hand."
We gave in and let her play during dinner. No more!
After dinner Kit worked on her blog.

Greg: Kit is available to update your blog. Just send her your password.
She called Grandma Carole and chatted non-stop. She sang several songs and kept returning to, "... and a chicken, E-I-E-I-O." (She knows her audience well)
The LeapFrog word builder is great. However, it looks like we're going to have to have a talk and keep a close eye on this girl.
We walked to the village for dinner. Along the way we collected some flowers.

Artist

Kit gave me this painting to take to work. I love it, especially since I got to watch her create it for me.

I think it might be a motorcycle, horse, rabbit or grasshopper.
She is very proud to see her work in a frame and going up on the wall. She has picked locations throughout the house where she wants to put her next paintings.

Kit is so proud that her art work is going on the wall just like Tuk's.

Sweet daughter

Kit's flower basket.

Today Kit asked me, "Daddy, how was your work?" How sweet!
