San Jose with Tuk
Tuk joined us today for lunch and Tech Museum. Now she knows our secret lunch spot. Tuk loved it so maybe she will join us more often.
San Jose with Granddad
We took lightrail downtown with Granddad.
Interesting sign.
Started at the Tech Museum where we saw the movie, Born to be Wild.
After lunch we walked to the CDM for more fun. Kit painted a rock.
She likes the merry-go-round that casts shadows onto the wall.
Kit tries to get Granddad wet.
And she sits in an old stage coach.
Took the lightrail back home but stopped at the park for some more playtime first.

Palo Alto
Kit and I took Caltrain from Santa Clara to Palo Alto for the day. We sat upstairs.
We enjoyed Patxi's Chicago-style stuffed pizza.
The wait was 40 minutes but worth it! We had fun coloring and chatting.
Then we walked around downtown.
Caught the train back to Santa Clara.
Had an ice cream at Baskin Robbins.
And played in the park before going home.

New Jeep
Back in late June we bought a new Jeep.
Tuk and Kit joined Brian, Ken and me for a nice Persian lunch.

UC Santa Cruz with Sophia
A week ago we met Sophia at a beach.
Afterwards we enjoyed ice cream and coffee at a market.
We spent a day hiking around the UC Santa Cruz campus with Sophia's family.
The Porter College "wave".
Saw lots of deer.
Walked through two gardens.
Girls looking at the "moat art" at Merrill College.
A rest on our long walk across the campus and back.
Porter College koi pond.

Tuk's Birthday
For Tuk's birthday we went to the Thai temple and toured the tiny town of Sunol
The town is tiny!
We plan to return to ride the train to Niles sometime.

Thank you for...
Last night we played a silly game of saying thank you for things you would never say thank you for. It started with me saying, "Thank you for not getting ready for bed." Kit caught on right away and came up with some great examples:
Thank you for...
Not paying attention.
Not cooperating.
Leaving the refrigerator door open.
Putting everything in the freezer into the refrigerator and everything in the refrigerator into the freezer.
Smelling my feet.
Farting.
Not flushing the toilet.
Not buying me any toys.
Making a big mess.
Giving me a time out.
Running down the stairs.
Pushing.
Not brushing your teeth.
Not taking a bath in a week.
Not taking me anywhere.
Not reading me a book.
Not buying me new clothes.
Not cooking dinner.
Not sharing.
Not going to bed.

Busy Saturday
Two weeks ago Kit and I took lightrail to downtown San Jose. We watched Born to be Wild at the Tech Museum. Kit enjoys the magnets.
Then we had lunch. Kit picked a lovely outdoor table with an umbrella "so we can count the dogs that go by us."
She requested penne pasta but they did not have it. So I cut the noodles to penne length for her.
Kit was my guide through the modern art museum.
Downstairs we discovered a Kid area!
They also had several works of contemporary art from India, along with some of their regular collection items.
Then Kit remembered that Tuk said, "You can go to the CDM too." So at 4:00 we walked to the Children's Discovery Museum for Kit to play until they closed at 5:00.
Kit prepares to pull a cord...
That launches plastic balls into the air with a blast of water!!!
Calling Tuk on the lightrail ride back home.
