While Dream was at her Prom, we went out for dinner too.
Kit loved trying new things. She was the perfect little girl.

Spring Fling
Kit and I spent the day together. Much of it was at Spring Fling, supporting the local school.
Kit had a butterfly painted on her face. Then she enjoyed the bounce house and slide. We took a break for some Jamba juice before returning to the madness.
Afterwards we went to the mall. Kit helped me select a dutch oven and a shirt. She picked out two Hello Kitty shirts for herself as well.
For dinner, the two of us went to Spice Hut. Kit loved it.

Kit's School
Parents at Kit's school are invited to come discuss their job with the children. This morning I discussed my volunteer job with California State Parks. It was fun to share what volunteering is and what park volunteers do.
First we discussed my park uniform, hiking socks, boots, hat and sunglasses. Then they loaded up my pack with water, first aid equipment, park radio, map, flashlight and nature guides for flowers, birds and animals.
About half the class has gone hiking. Fewer than half have been camping. They had lots of interesting questions and also contributed comments of their experiences. They were very knowledgeable at identifying the birds and animals that live in parks.
I think Kit enjoyed it too. She has joined me in staffing park interpretive events and has gone on trail patrol yet we never discussed it in much detail. I think she is becoming aware that it is both a job we do to help others as well as something we find fun to do for ourselves.
